Yashastilaka
The Yashastilaka is a Sanskrit romance in mixed prose and verse by the Jain scholar Somadeva Suri, completed in 959 at the court of the Vemulavada Chalukyas. It tells the story of King Yashodhara and his rebirths to teach the Jain doctrine of non-violence, and includes a long manual of lay Jain conduct. It is also a rich source for the social life of 10th-century India.
