Yeondeunghoe
The Yeondeunghoe is a Korean Buddhist lantern festival. In the Goryeo kingdom it was a state festival held early in the year, at which lanterns were lit in honour of the Buddha, alongside the Palgwanhoe. It continues today as the lantern festival celebrating the Buddha's birthday and was inscribed on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage in 2020.
