Zalavár
Zalavár is a village in Zala county in western Hungary, near the south-western end of Lake Balaton. In the 9th century, as Mosapurc or Mosaburg, it was the fortified seat of the Slavic princes Pribina and Kocel under Frankish overlordship, built on an island in the marshes of the Zala river. Excavations have revealed the remains of several churches, including a large church consecrated by the archbishop of Salzburg.
