Zliten Mosaic

The Zliten Mosaic is a Roman floor mosaic found at a villa at Zliten, near Leptis Magna in Libya, depicting gladiatorial combat and the killing of prisoners by wild animals in the arena. It shows lions and leopards supplied by the Garamantes being used in Roman arenas. It illustrates the trans-Saharan trade in exotic animals that linked the Garamantes to Rome.
