Zungeru

Zungeru is a town in Niger State, central Nigeria. Frederick Lugard made it the capital of the Protectorate of Northern Nigeria in 1902, replacing Lokoja, and it remained the seat of government until the move to Kaduna in 1917. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nigeria's first president, was born there in 1904.
