Abbas II of Persia

Also known as Abbas II

Abbas II of Persia was a Safavid shah who ruled from 1642 to 1666. His reign was relatively stable and included the recovery of Kandahar from the Mughals, and he took a personal interest in government. In accounts of the Safavid Empire he appears as one of the later shahs whose rule preceded the dynasty's more pronounced decline.
