Act of Union (1815)
The Act of Union of 1815, Riksakten, was the law adopted by the Norwegian Storting and the Swedish Riksdag that set the terms of the personal union of Sweden and Norway. It confirmed that the two kingdoms shared a king and conducted foreign policy jointly, while each kept its own constitution, parliament, government and laws. It remained in force until the union was dissolved in 1905.
