Aku Uka

Aku Uka is the title of the sacred king of the Jukun people of the Benue valley in Nigeria. The king's wellbeing was believed to be bound to rain and harvest, and he lived secluded from ordinary view, surrounded by ritual officials. The title passed from the old Jukun power known as Kwararafa to the kingdom of Wukari, where it is still held today.
