An-Nasir Yusuf was the last major Ayyubid ruler in Syria, Sultan of Aleppo from 1236 and of Damascus from 1250. He reunited much of Ayyubid Syria but failed to recover Egypt from the Mamluks. When the Mongols under Hulagu invaded in 1260 he fled, was captured and was executed later that year.
