Alberta
Alberta is a province of western Canada, between British Columbia and Saskatchewan, with Edmonton as its capital and Calgary as its largest city. Once part of Rupert's Land and the North-Western Territory, it became a province in 1905. Its economy rests on farming, ranching and, since the discovery at Leduc in 1947, oil and gas.
