Alexander I of Russia

Also known as Alexander I

Alexander I of Russia was emperor of the Russian Empire from 1801 to 1825. He led Russia through the Napoleonic Wars, including the defeat of Napoleon's invasion in 1812, and Russian armies reached Paris in 1814. He played a central role at the Congress of Vienna, and his early reforming plans gave way to more conservative rule later in his reign.
