Alpes Graiae
Alpes Graiae was a small province of the Roman Empire in the western Alps, covering the Tarentaise valley in modern Savoie and the approaches to the Little St Bernard Pass. Organised in the 1st century CE, probably under Claudius, it was governed by an equestrian procurator from Forum Claudii Ceutronum (Aime), and was later administered jointly with the neighbouring Alpes Poeninae.
