Ards Peninsula

The Ards Peninsula is a low, fertile peninsula in County Down, Northern Ireland, between Strangford Lough and the Irish Sea. In the early Middle Ages it belonged to the lands of the Dál Fiatach, and it later passed to the Anglo-Normans and, in the early 17th century, to Scottish settlers brought by Hamilton and Montgomery.
