Askot
Askot is a small town in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India, near the borders with Nepal and Tibet. After the Katyuri kingdom broke up, a branch of the Katyuri dynasty, the Rajwars, ruled the surrounding estate from Askot for centuries under the Chand kings and later the British. The nearby forests form the Askot Wildlife Sanctuary.
