Athamanians
The Athamanians were an ancient people of the Pindus mountains in north-western Greece, living around the upper Achelous between Epirus, Thessaly and Aetolia. Usually counted among the Epirote tribes, they were ruled by their own kings and formed a small independent kingdom in the later 3rd and early 2nd centuries BCE, most notably under Amynander, before falling under Macedonian and then Roman control.
