Bamberg
Bamberg is a city in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, on the Regnitz near the Main. Emperor Henry II founded its bishopric in 1007, and the cathedral holds his tomb and the statue of the Bamberg Horseman. The prince-bishops ruled the city until 1802, and its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 1919 the Bavarian government took refuge there and adopted the Bamberg Constitution.
