Bao Si

8th century BCE · 8th century BCE

Bao Si was a consort of King You of Zhou in the 8th century BCE. According to the Shiji, the king deposed Queen Shen and the crown prince in favour of her and her son, and lit the warning beacons to make her laugh until the lords no longer answered them. The Marquis of Shen then allied with the Quanrong to sack the capital in 771 BCE, ending the Western Zhou.
