1843 · 19th century

The Battle of Miani was fought on 17 February 1843 near Hyderabad in Sindh, where a small British-Indian army under General Sir Charles Napier defeated the much larger forces of the Talpur amirs of Sindh. Napier won again at Dubba in March, and Britain annexed Sindh, which was attached to the Bombay Presidency.
