Battle of Morat
The Battle of Morat was fought on 22 June 1476 at Murten, west of Bern, during the Burgundian Wars. The Swiss Confederates relieved the town, held by Adrian von Bubenberg against a siege by Charles the Bold, duke of Burgundy, and routed his army with heavy losses. With his defeat at Grandson earlier that year, it broke Burgundian power and led to Charles's death at Nancy in 1477.
