Bayan Wujub al-Hijra (Exposition on the Obligation of Migration) is a political and religious treatise by Usman dan Fodio, founder of the Sokoto Caliphate. It sets out the duty of Muslims to leave lands ruled unjustly and the obligations of an Islamic government. Together with his other writings, it provided the ideological framework for governance in the caliphate, establishing Islamic law as the standard for judging rulers.
