Bình Ngô đại cáo

1428 · 15th century · Also known as Great Proclamation upon the Pacification of the Wu, Binh Ngo dai cao

The Bình Ngô đại cáo is a proclamation written in classical Chinese by Nguyễn Trãi in 1428 on behalf of Lê Lợi to announce victory over the Ming and the restoration of Đại Việt. Asserting that Vietnam had its own territory, customs and dynasties equal to China's, it is regarded as a classic declaration of Vietnamese independence.
