Jiaozhi
Jiaozhi was the Chinese name for the region of the Red River delta in northern Vietnam. It was a commandery under the Han dynasty after 111 BCE and, much later, a province of the Ming Empire from 1407, when the Yongle Emperor annexed Đại Việt, until 1427, when Lê Lợi's uprising forced the Ming to withdraw.
