Bogislaw IV, Duke of Pomerania

c. 1258–1309 · 13th century

Bogislaw IV, Duke of Pomerania, was a member of the Griffin dynasty. In 1295 he and his half-brother Otto I divided the Duchy of Pomerania: Bogislaw took the coastal lands north of the Peene and the east, ruling from Wolgast, while Otto received the lands around Stettin. The partition created the separate duchies of Pomerania-Wolgast and Pomerania-Stettin.
