Boizenburg

Boizenburg is a town on the Elbe in the west of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, near the border with Lower Saxony. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the counts of Schwerin, one of whose lines was based there, and later to the dukes of Mecklenburg. In the 20th century it was known for its decorative wall tiles, used across Germany.
