Bottiaeans
The Bottiaeans were an ancient people of Macedonia who originally lived in Bottiaea, the plain west of the Axios river. Driven out by the expanding Macedonian kings, they resettled in Chalcidice in a district called Bottice, where Olynthus was their town until the Persians took it in 479 BCE. In the 5th century BCE the Bottiaeans formed a small league, allied at times with Athens and with the Chalcidians.
