d. c. 413 BCE · 5th century BCE

Perdiccas II was king of Macedon from about 448 to about 413 BCE, who repeatedly changed sides between Athens and Sparta in the Peloponnesian War. In 432 BCE he persuaded the Chalcidian towns to revolt from the Delian League and to concentrate their people at Olynthus, creating the core of the Chalcidian League.
