Perdido River

The Perdido River is a river on the Gulf Coast of the United States that forms most of the boundary between Florida and Alabama. Under French and Spanish rule it marked the border between Louisiana and West Florida, and in the early 19th century the United States claimed the coast as far as the Perdido as part of the Louisiana Purchase.
