Brocéliande

Brocéliande is a legendary forest of Arthurian romance, first placed in Brittany by the poet Wace in the twelfth century. It is linked with the fountain of Barenton, the fairy Viviane and the enchanter Merlin. Since the later Middle Ages it has been identified with the forest of Paimpont, west of Rennes, which draws many visitors.
