Bückeburg

Bückeburg is a town in Lower Saxony, between the Weser and the Steinhuder Meer. Count Ernst of Holstein-Schaumburg made it his residence in the early 17th century and rebuilt its palace and church, and from 1647 to 1946 it was the capital of Schaumburg-Lippe. The princely family still lives in the palace.
