Bugis
The Bugis are a people of South Sulawesi in Indonesia, known for their seafaring and trade and for their epic La Galigo, written in their own Lontara script. Their kingdoms included Bone, Wajo and Soppeng. After the Makassar War of 1666–1669 many Bugis migrated across the archipelago as traders and warriors; in Johor-Riau they held the office of viceroy from 1722, and they founded the sultanate of Selangor.
