Burao
Burao is a city in the Togdheer region of Somaliland, on the seasonal Togdheer river. It was a seat of the Habr Yunis sultans and a centre of the Isaaq clans, and in May 1991 it hosted the conference at which the Somali National Movement declared the restoration of Somaliland's independence. It is now one of Somaliland's largest cities and a major livestock market.
