Cadair Idris
Cadair Idris is a mountain in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, rising to 893 metres at Penygadair at the southern end of Snowdonia National Park. Its name, 'chair of Idris', refers to a legendary giant or to Idris ap Gwyddno, a 7th-century king of Meirionnydd. The glacial lake Llyn Cau and its cliffs make it one of the best-known mountains in Wales.
