Caelian Hill
The Caelian Hill is one of the seven hills of Rome, south-east of the Palatine. Livy says that Tullus Hostilius settled the people of the destroyed Alba Longa there in the 7th century BCE. Under the Empire it became a district of wealthy houses and later of churches, among them Santi Giovanni e Paolo and Santo Stefano Rotondo.
