Caerwent
Caerwent is a village in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales, on the site of Venta Silurum, the Roman town that served as the capital of the Silures. Its stone town walls are among the best preserved in Roman Britain, and an inscription there records the council of the civitas of the Silures. The later Welsh kingdom of Gwent took its name from Venta.
