Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire is a county in south-west Wales, the largest of the historic Welsh counties, with Carmarthen as its county town and Llanelli as its largest town. It covers the valley of the Tywi and the uplands around it. In the early Middle Ages it formed the core of the kingdoms of Ystrad Tywi and Deheubarth, and the Romans mined gold at Dolaucothi in its north.
