Castor and Pollux

Also known as Dioscuri

Castor and Pollux, the Dioscuri, were twin heroes and gods of Greek and Roman religion, sons of Leda and, in most accounts, of Zeus. They were patrons of horsemen and protectors of sailors. Roman legend held that they fought for Rome at the battle of Lake Regillus around 496 BCE and then appeared in the Forum, where a temple was dedicated to them; their cult was strong at nearby Tusculum.
