Central Powers
The Central Powers were the coalition of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria that fought against the Allies in the First World War. Their defeat in 1918 led to the collapse of all four monarchies. For the Ottoman Empire, the alliance led to the Allied occupation of Istanbul and the Treaty of Sèvres.
