Chahar Lang
The Chahar Lang is one of the two main divisions of the Bakhtiari tribal confederation of south-western Iran, the other being the Haft Lang. Its clans lived mainly in the western parts of Bakhtiari territory in the Zagros mountains. Rivalry between the leading khans of the two divisions shaped Bakhtiari politics, though from the 19th century the Haft Lang khans usually held the paramount chieftainship.
