Chattuarii
The Chattuarii were a Germanic people of the lower Rhine, mentioned by Roman writers from the 1st century CE. They are counted among the older peoples who merged into the Frankish confederation from the 3rd century, and a district on the lower Rhine, the Hattuarian gau, preserved their name in the early Middle Ages.
