Chaubise Rajya
The Chaubise Rajya, the 'twenty-four kingdoms', were a group of small hill principalities in the Gandaki region of western Nepal, many ruled by dynasties claiming Rajput descent. Palpa, Tanahun and Lamjung were among the strongest. In the 18th century the Gorkha kingdom, which had grown from them, conquered them during the unification of Nepal.
