Chełmno law
Chełmno law, German Kulm law, was the town law granted by the Teutonic Order in its charter of 1233 for the towns of Chełmno and Toruń. Based on Magdeburg law, it gave towns self-government and settlers secure property on favourable terms. It became the model for the founding charters of most towns and many villages in Prussia and was later used widely in Poland.
