Chola–Chalukya wars
The Chola–Chalukya wars were a long series of conflicts in the 11th and early 12th centuries between the Chola dynasty of the Tamil country and the Western Chalukyas of Kalyani in the Deccan. They fought chiefly over the fertile Raichur Doab and over influence in the Eastern Chalukya kingdom of Vengi, with major battles such as Koppam (1054); neither side won a lasting victory.
