Raichur Doab
The Raichur Doab is the triangle of fertile land between the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers in the Deccan of southern India, named after the fortified town of Raichur. From the 14th to the 16th century it was the chief prize in recurring wars between the Vijayanagara Empire and the Bahmani Sultanate and its successor sultanates, and its forts of Raichur and Mudgal changed hands many times.
