Civita Castellana
Civita Castellana is a town in the province of Viterbo in northern Lazio, Italy, built on a tufa plateau above deep ravines. It stands on the site of Falerii, the chief town of the Faliscans, which Rome destroyed in 241 BCE, moving its people to Falerii Novi on the plain. The site was resettled in the early Middle Ages and has a Romanesque cathedral.
