Cotyora

Also known as Kotyora

Cotyora (Kotyora) was an ancient Greek colony of Sinope on the Black Sea coast of north-eastern Anatolia, near modern Ordu in Turkey. Xenophon's Ten Thousand rested there in 400 BCE on their march home. It was taken by Pharnaces I of Pontus, who moved part of its population to his new city of Pharnacia, and it declined thereafter.
