Cotys I (Odrysian)
Cotys I was king of the Odrysian kingdom of Thrace from 384 to 360 BCE. He strengthened royal power over the Thracian tribes and fought Athens for control of the Thracian Chersonese, although he had married his daughter to the Athenian general Iphicrates. He was murdered in 360 BCE, after which his kingdom was divided among rival heirs, opening Thrace to Philip II of Macedon.
