Danebury

c. 6th–1st century BCE · 6th century BCE · Also known as Danebury hillfort

Danebury is an Iron Age hillfort in Hampshire, England, near Stockbridge. Excavated by Barry Cunliffe from 1969 to 1988, it is one of the most thoroughly studied hillforts in Britain. It was occupied from about the 6th century BCE to about 100 BCE, and its many storage pits show it was a major centre for grain and trade.
