Debal

Also known as Daybul

Debal was a port of Sindh near the mouth of the Indus, close to modern Karachi, often identified with the excavated site of Banbhore. Active in Indian Ocean trade, it was the first city taken by Muhammad ibn Qasim in his conquest of Sindh in 711–712, after attacks on Arab shipping nearby had given the Umayyads a pretext for the invasion.
