Dieric Bouts was an Early Netherlandish painter, born in Haarlem around 1415, who worked in Leuven from the 1440s and became its official city painter in 1468. His best-known work is the Altarpiece of the Holy Sacrament in St Peter's Church, Leuven, with its Last Supper, and he also painted the Justice of Emperor Otto panels for the town hall.
