Edfu
Edfu is a town on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, between Luxor and Aswan. It is known for its Temple of Horus, built under the Ptolemies between 237 and 57 BCE and the best preserved temple of ancient Egypt, whose sanctuary holds a granite shrine of Nectanebo II. Its walls carry long inscriptions on ritual, mythology and the geography of Egypt.
